The orthosis stabilizes the joint, allowing the affected ligaments to heal. The special cap protects the sore thumb from possible impacts, for example from impact with the ball. The brace's bands are individually adjustable and allow the wearer to determine the degree of limitation of thumb flexion based on their needs.
